Learning Objective and Learning Outcome:

After completion of the course the students shall be able to:

  1. Know and understand Learning, its characteristics and influencing factors of learning.
  2. Know and understand the different Stages and aspects of human development.
  3. Understand of how learning is related with the development of a learner.
  4. Know, understand and explain personality.

Course Contents:

Unit-I: Learning and its Application in Education

  1. Definition, characteristics and factors influencing learning
  2. Theories of learning – Classical Conditioning, Operant Conditioning, Connectionism, Cognitivism and Constructivism
  3. Application Learning Theories – Behaviour Modification, AOM and CAM

Unit-II: Growth and Development

  1. Growth, Development and Maturity
  1. Stages of Development
  2. Developmental Disorder

Unit-III: Personality and Psychopathology

  1. Personality – Definition and Charters tics
  2. Mental health and Hygiene – Definition, Scope, Educational implication
  3. Mental Disease and therapeutic intervention – Anxiety Disorders, OCD ,Chemo therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
