Course Objective: After you read this unit, you should able to Define Anthropology. Its aim; scope and objectives of Anthropology. It will give you the idea of history and development of the Anthropology. It also gives you knowledge about different branches of Anthropology
Learning Outcome: It will give you the idea about Definition, scope, significance of Anthropology, it’s branches, relationship with other disciplines and Anthropological perspectives. It will give them a practical aspect of Anthropology.

Total Marks: 50 (40 term exam + 10 internal assessment)
Unit 1. Definition of Anthropology, Aims and Objective of Anthropology, History and Development of Anthropology.
Unit 2. Branches of Anthropology (Biological Anthropology, Social-Cultural Anthropology, Archeology and linguistic),
Unit 3. Relationship of Anthropology with other Disciplines (Science, Social-Science & Humanities etc.).
Unit 4. Anthropological Perspectives - Holism, Cross-cultural Comparison and Fieldwork. Application of Anthropological knowledge.
