Course Title: SELF- DEFENSE ACTIVITY, INDOOR GAME AND MULTIGYM ACTIVITY

(L-P-Tu): 0-6-0

Credit: 6

Practical/Theory: Practical

Course Objective:  To understand the self-defense activity, indoor activity and multigym activity.  To learn various skills in self-defense activity, indoor activity and multigym activity.  To develop confidence among the students through self-defense activity participation.  To develop fitness level among the students through multigym activity

Learning Outcome:  Students are prepared to lead the sports man in different self-defense activity in respect to the development of skill and personality

SELF-DEFENSE ACTIVITY: (Hour- 30)

KARATE/ JUDO/BOXING/ TAEKWONDO/WRESTLING/ LATHI (Any One out of these)

1. Fundamental Skills

2.Defensive Skills

3. Attacking Skills

4. Game Play.

5.Rules regulations and duties of officials.

INDOOR GAMES: - (Hour-30)

CARRAM

1.Introduction of Caram board.

2. Techniques: -Striker grips, flicking, Shooting, Seating Position,

3. Rules and regulations of the game.

4. Cut: Normal Cut, Straight Cut, Negative Cut

5. Shot: Thumb Shot, Double Shot, Third Shot, Front Shot, Rebound, Centre Shot, Straight Shot

6. Game Play

CHESS

1. Introduction of Chess Board and Notation.

2. Initial Position, Moves, Capture, Pawns.

3. The King's Special, Features, Check, Checkmate, Casting, Stalemate, Other kinds of Draws

4. Comparative Value of the Pieces, Method & The time factor

5. Strategies, Rules and Regulations

6. Cognitive benefits: problem-solving, concentration and decision-making

7. Game Play

MULTIGYM ACTIVITY (Hour-30)

1. Freehand Exercises

2. Treadmill activity

3. Cycling

4. Weight Training:

a) Grips: over grip, under grip, alternate grasp, starting position- standing, crouch.

b) Upright rowing, Wrist curl, two arms front curl (dumb-bell, iron bar) and reverse curl, alternate upward arm press (dumb-bell), front and back press (iron bar), bench press, inclined bench press, leg press.

c) Good morning, back and front squat, split squat, heel raise. d) Core exercises.
