Course Objective: 1.To provide students with a comprehensive idea about the literary works and genres of Santali literature over the ages. 2.It traces the path of the growth of Santali literature in the period of its mediaeval era. 3. To familiarize students with the literary texts of Santali literature in medieval period.
Learning Outcome: The completion of the course is supposed to benefit the students in the following ways: 1.It offers a comprehensive understanding of social and intellectual climate of santal society. 2.The course offers extensive insight into the history of Santali literature, while laying special emphasis on various literary movements, genres and writers that are held to be the representatives of their times. 3.It helps the students to evaluate the way socio-cultural and historical phenomena influence the literary production of a particular period. 4.The students are also offered an in-depth understanding on the growth of the Santali literature.
