Course Objective: 1. To provide entrepreneurial knowledge and skills to the learners. 2. To know about micro, small and medium enterprises which is the backbone of our country’s economy. 3. To understand the infrastructural supports that are required for developing entrepreneurial aspects.
Learning Outcome: By learning entrepreneurship development learners can accumulate in depth knowledge and skills regarding entrepreneurial aspects which will help them in making sound carrier in future.
Unit 1: Introduction (Lectures: 15)
Meaning, elements, determinants and importance of entrepreneurship and creative behavior; Entrepreneurship and creative response to the society’s problems and at work; Dimensions of entrepreneurship: entrepreneurship, technopreneurs, cultural entrepreneurship.
Unit 2: Entrepreneurship and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Lectures: 15)
Concept of business groups and role of business houses and family business in India; The contemporary role models in Indian business: their values, business philosophy and behavioural orientations; Conflict in the family business and its resolution.
Unit 3: Infrastructural Support to Entrepreneurship (Lectures:20 )
Public and private system of stimulation, support and sustainability of entrepreneurship; Requirement, availability and access to finance, marketing assistance, technology, and industrial accommodation, The concept, role and functions of venture capital and private equity fund, debt fund, govt. grants.
Unit 4: Project planning and Feasibility Studies (Lectures: 10)
Methods of preparation of project plan and conducting feasibility studies.
