Course Objective: This paper introduces the students to the sociological understanding of work and leisure. It will help them to view work and leisure as an integral part of a society. The course tries to identify and contextualize the emergence and changing nature of work

Learning Outcome: 1. To throw light on the complex interplay between work, leisure and social life. 2. To address contemporary issues like unpaid work, gender, forced labour and hazardous work that have created work related social inequality in society.
